Wow it has been a long, yet exciting day. That train ride was very long, but I actually slept right through the whole thing. There are like 6 people in each car when there should probably only be three at the most! I was suppose to get some homework done but instead I chose to sleep and it felt really good. We took a bus to our hotel. While on our way to the hotel we saw the Eiffel Tower, and a lot of other famous buildings. Paris is a lot different then I thought it would be. It is great but during the day isn’t as busy as I thought. It is huge and probably the largest city I have ever been in. We sketched the Eiffel Tower first and it was so much fun! Just to be in such close proximity of it felt great. I knew it was large but to see it in person blew me away!
For the rest of the day we were mainly walking to the catacombs. After walking for so long we were excited when we finally got there. Well funny story….they are closed on Mondays! It was fun anyways to walk through the city and get to know it better. We will most likely go there another day. So we had to come up with something else to do until our night boat tour We decided on the Hard Rock CafĂ©, which was divine. The first time I had a cup full of ice and diet coke with free refills since I have been in Europe. It was great and it tasted very delicious
The boat cruise was really fun to be on. It was dark by the time we got on it, so everything was lit up. The Eiffel Tower was absolutely beautiful and it was nice to see so much of the city with out having to walk through the whole thing. The art nouveau style and international style here is fun to see. It is a lot different then Italy that’s for sure. Tomorrow is Bastille Day, so it will be crazy here. There is a lot going on to celebrate, including a great firework show so I am looking forward to it.
