Two words…Briton Carpets! We got an exclusive tour of the whole Brinton carpets just outside of London today. We woke up at 5 am to get there in time but it was so worth it. They have very interesting textiles and designs. It was fun to see the entire process of how they come up with their carpet designs and produce their product. They were extremely nice and made it a really good experience. Even though the majority of us were about ready to die from lack of sleep we made it through and learned a lot. I am in the process of creating a few patterns myself so it was helpful to see what they did today. The colors they use are so beautiful and work together to make them unbelievable. One of my most favorite parts was the archive room, they have patterns from the 1800’s and they will use those for inspiration. It was crazy to see how designs come back in to style after generations and generations. A lot of patterns we saw from the early 1900’s are ones that could easily be used in new designs in this present day. So it was a long day but one I will never forget. Tonight I am trying to get caught up on homework and maybe book a flight for somewhere for this weekend. I haven’t quite decided where I want to go yet....Denmark or Ireland. I will keep you posted!
